WOUND MANAGEMENT RESEARCH CENTRE FOR QUT  l  The Australian Government has awarded QUT a $28 million eight year grant to establish the Wound Management Innovation Cooperative Research Centre which will be led by IHBI researchers Professors Zee Upton and Helen Edwards.

The Centre's research will improve the quality of life for people with chronic wounds through research into the mechanisms of wound healing, developing new wound healing products and therapies, enhancing clinical wound care and prevention, and integrating best practice wound care into clinics and hospitals.

STUDENT VILLAGE LAUNCHES NEW LOUNGE  l  The Kelvin Grove Student Village officially opened its brand new student lounge on 17 February. The event was a huge success, attracting over 500 students, and featured dance battles by energetic street performers, Raw Metal, tunes by DJ Miss Jaime and giveaways from the Red Bull 'wings team'.

The student lounge is designed as an extension of residents' living rooms - a casual space to relax, meet and recharge.
